Course Description
This course covers topics in advanced mathematics that are important to
physics, using both analytical and numerical techniques. The following topics
and their applications in physics will be studied: infinite series, linear
partial differential equations, Sturm Liouville theory, Legendre, Laguerre,
Hermite and other special functions and Fourier series and transforms. Prerequisites:
MCS-221, MCS-253, and PHY-230. Spring semester.
