Course Description
This course will provide an introduction to the
Fortran 90 language and its application to problems in physics,
engineering, applied mathematics and simulation of systems. Fortran
continues to
be one of the most commonly used languages in physics, engineering research and
development. Programs will be executed on Windows computers.
This course is designed to build on the student's previous
programming experience with another high level language, preferably Basic, C, or
Pascal. The course grade will be based upon assigned exercises, programs,
quizzes, a comprehensive final exam, and the project.
Prerequisites: PHY160 or PH200, and some programming
experience.
